Climbing In the wild, rats need to do a lot of climbing for various reasons. This is very good exercise for them and keeps them agile. Try to provide your rats different fun things to climb. You could use rope, driftwood, blankets, ladders, anything they can grip onto. Create climbing challenges for them in their play area and encourage them to climb the challenge by putting a treat at the end as a reward.
