Critter Cubby Hole Drum from Super Pet Discontinued :( RattyRat's Review: This is a fun little sleeping den for a single adult rat, or two youngsters. Our rats love it. It's very colorful, and hangs off the wall or ceiling of their cage, keeping it off the dirty floor. The inside is plastic, so it is easy to clean. And the rope on it is sisal rope, which is safe for rats to eat. The only problem we have with this Critter Cuby, is that it's not terribly durable over time and rats will chew right through the sisal rope that hangs it up. We strongly recommend going right ahead and cutting that rope off, and replacing it with metal wire instead, which rats can't chew through, BEFORE giving it to your rats. Someone told us that they lost two of their rats to an accident where this drum fell with them in it and killed them. Simply stick some wire through the hole in the drum (left by the rope), and tie the end around a small metal washer so it can't slip back up through the hole. Then tie the other end of the wire around the metal clasp (the one that was on the rope) and your done. As a second sleeping den for your ratties' home, it is a great choice. But it is not suitable for a main den, because of it's small size.
