Oxbow has two versions of the Regal Rat, one formulated for adults and one formulated for young growing rats, which is ideally what you want for your rats because they have very different nutritional needs as a baby and as an adult. You should never feed the adult food to your baby growing rats because it doesn't contain enough fat and protein for them. You can't find a healthier food on the market than this one. Oxbow's food does have three problems though. First, it is very expensive, so you are paying a high price for a quality food. Second, we've found that most rats won't eat Regal Rat because they don't like the flavor. Third, you can't use it if you have young rats mixed with old rats because of the two seperate diets.
