RattyRat's Review: We've discovered that the Harlan Teklad diet is the most popular diet for rat lovers out there in the US, and seems to be the most recommended. It is a fairly healthy rat block which uses "ground wheat" as it's first ingredient, unlike other rat blocks whose first ingredient is usually corn filler. It also uses soybean oil as a natural preservative so you don't have to worry about any of those harmful chemicals being in it. We know we've certainly noticed an improvement in our rats' health since we switched to it. The only bad thing that we could say about it, is that it still uses an awful large amount of corn. Oxbow brand "Regal Rat" rat kibble is a step above this diet in that it uses no corn in it's ingredients, but Oxbow is also much more expensive, charging a premium price for their premium product.
