Rights for Fashion Rats Animal rights groups have spoken out against using creatures on the catwalk following the death of a rat. During the recent Australian Fashion Week, almost two hundred rats were used as props for a fashion show and unfortunately one of the rodents was accidentally killed. Since the rat's demise, a spokesperson for the RSPCA has suggested that animals should not appear on catwalks and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) also believes that using animals in a runway show is wrong "as they are likely to be scared at the atmosphere and amount of people present".
