What Markings do They Come in? Below you will find a listing of illustrations demonstrating many of the recognized markings rats can have. These illustrations represent the ideal of what each marking should look like. Marked rats can come in all different colors, however we choose a tan color to represent the colored portion of the rat, and the white represents what would then be white on the rat. A rat that has one of the below illustrated markings which ventures too far from the ideal would then be called a missmarked. For example, a rat with a blaze that comes up the side of the face as opposed to being centered as it should be, would be called a missmarked blazed. Also, you can sometimes have more than one marking on a rat, such as a blazed-berkshire or a variegated-possum. ![]() |
